KATELYN BURKHART

My Name is Katelyn Burkhart, and I am 23 years old. I grew up here in Pace, FL, and I first started playing soccer when I was 5 years old in the recreation program when it was previously know as The Futbol Club of Santa Rosa (FCSR), now known as West Florida Soccer Club. I played in the recreation program until I was 11 years old before I finally moved up to the Select Program. I was a part of the FCSR Revolution team from age 11 all the way up until I graduated from Pace High School where I also played for 4 years. At PHS I won the Pensacola News Journal Player of the Year in 2014. After high school, with the major help of my coaches Louie Sahin, Jeff Klugg, and my goalkeeper coach Scott Martin, I was able to earn a soccer scholarship to the University of West Florida. In those short 4 years at UWF, I became a Division 2 All American, and was the team captain my senior year. Our team throughout those years won the Gulf South Conference Title in 2016, the entire South Region in 2016 & 2017, and made it to all the way to the Elite 8 Bracket in 2016 & 2017 in our hunt for the National Championship. And last but certainly not least, in 2017 I graduated from UWF with a Bachelors Degree in Exercise Science, and also have my NSCAA Level 6 Coaching License!

TAYLOR BURKHART

My name is Taylor Burkhart and I am 23 years old, born and raised in the Pace/Pensacola area. My soccer journey began when I was about 5 years old in the recreation program here at WFSC; formally know as Futbol Club of Santa Rosa (FCSR). I played recreation until I was 11 years old when I was fortunate enough to join the select program. I was apart of the FCSR Revolution team for my whole career and we became one of the best teams in the state of Florida and even the South East Region with the help of Coach Louie, Coach Jeff and Coach Scott. This led me to play at Pace High School on the varsity team for 4 years winning the district title in 2010 and 2014 and made First Team All Area in 2014. After this career ended another door opened for me as I got the opportunity to play at the University of West Florida. I was on athletic and academic scholarship during my time at UWF receiving Gulf South Conference Fall Academic Honor Roll, and ADA Academic Achievement Award. I scored a total of 8 goals including a game winner at my time at UWF. In 2016 we won the GSC conference title as well as the South Region title and made our way into the Elite 8 National Tournament bracket. Last but not least after hanging up the collegiate soccer boots I graduated from the University of West Florida in May 2018 with a bachelors degree in Athletic Training.

MARTIN MINA

Martin Mina has been a Computer Support Technician for Santa Rosa County District School for 19 years. He has coached at Milton High School for 10 years and has coached at our complex (West Florida Soccer Club) for the past 5 years. 7 years ago, he decided to put his kids through the soccer program not only because of the reputation of the coaching staff, but also for his hunger and love of the sport that he has had since he was a child. Barely able to kick the ball down the dirt roads of Panama because of poverty, he already had that burning look in his eyes that a soccer ball was all he needed. After moving to Costa Rica, Puntarenas, he played for a small Community College (Colegio Universitario de Puntarenas) for a year and a half and that was all he needed to realize that he had the passion to coach soccer. Eventually, he moved to the United States where he realized that God has given him the ability to become a great coach and that is what he is working on right now. He has attained the NSCAA Advanced Regional Diploma and the NSCAA National Diploma.
